Membership Rates

Membership rates (monthly) 1 September 2025 – 31 August 2026 (previous year in brackets). Note that having kept the local subscription unchanged last year, it has increased slightly for most members this year. However, the total subscription has reduced for members earning between £22K and £30Kpa and for members earning less than £22K has increased by a maximum of 6 pence per month.

Members who become unemployed are entitled to free membership for 12 months.

Registered PhD students who are also engaged in paid teaching or similar work are entitled to our Free Membership Offer.

Registered PhD students who are NOT employed are eligible to become Postgraduate Researcher Members. PGR members can participate fully in branch affairs (i.e. stand for office and vote in elections and branch meetings). They pay subs at the lowest rate for Full members (currently £1 pm). Please complete the form here if you wish to transfer to PGR Membership.
