Strike Report – Day 3

Published: 2nd March, 2018

As the second week of strike action began, it was freezing, but that didn’t dampen our spirits and there was an even bigger turn out of staff on the picket lines, making much noise and garnering lots of supportive honks from passing traffic.

As promised, we returned to Fielding Johnson Building in the expectation that our Vice-Chancellor, Paul Boyle, might have something to say to us three days into our protest. Despite a loud chorus of #whereispaulboyle ringing around, we did not find out.

The musician Akala visited an impromptu evening picket to offer his solidarity before giving a talk on Decolonising the Curriculum to hundreds of our students.
